A new article from Reason.com argues that we have spent $2 TRILLION to date fighting an Islamic threat that doesn’t exist.  It is becoming increasingly apparent that to cover that cost, our State and Federal governments will be significantly decreasing our expenditures on social, educational, and public broadcasting services.  These services are critical to development of a just society and informed citizenry.  Significant cuts will lead towards a less democratic, free, and open society, and potentially a less stable society.
