We took ski lessons from Frank C. while at Copper. Here’s a few lessons we learned from him as he tried to help us ski with “Elegant Power” down the steeps. This is mostly so that I can remember next year when we come back to ski again, but if anyone else benefits, yay! đŸ™‚
- Keep your body facing down the fall line
- Hold your hands forward in the same position as you would holding a bike handlebar
- Use your hands to steer, pointing where you want to go
- Roll your ankles to turn carving skis
- Use flexion extension to speed your feet movement
- As you complete the S of your turn, roll your feet to begin the next turn to keep a steady flow
- Use the mountain, not your muscles
